20/7/07,
My class and I went to Victoria Junior College to participate in the Science Challenge - Science and Maths Games. My friends and I swapped songs, videos and played each others mobile games on the way to VJC. When we arrived, we were split into two groups. One group followed my teacher while the other group followed my classmate's mother.
I followed my teacher. My friends and I went to a Carrens table and tried our luck. Man! Luck was not on Dion's side nor mine... however, Keith putted one and got a packet of crisps for that. Dion and I went to a vacumm - thingy and we had to try to make a ping - pong ball hover in the air using the vacumm and put it into a cup. Dion and I failed miserably.
Later, we went to the Maths games. This was where I won the most prizes. I had to put four 'T's into a square and I suceeded with Keith's help. I mostly tried solving a puzzle wear you had to push a row of arrow things out of the box but it was very difficult because if you turned one piece the other piece would be stuck.
After that, we checked out some other experiments such as the static experiment, the diaper story and the pressure experiment. Then, we went to the canteen and ate some stuff.
It wsas rather fun and it was also pretty challenging.
I was going to the Mica Building to go to the SYF Art Exhibition. When we arrived, we had to wait at the entrance. Dion, Keith and I exchanged videos and songs on our hand phones until Miss Lee told us to stop. *whoops...* I looked up and saw a... deformed human face! Kidding. It was a statue called Dialogue. I suddenly smelled the smell of chlorine and found out it was from the fountain surrounding the statue.
Finally, they allowed us to enter the Art Exhibititon. We had to look out for a painting called Birds. When we saw lots of people crowding around a painting we knew we had found it. They asked us how many birds there were and we had to look really carefully to spot some of them. We also saw a "treasure chest" filled with... fake lizards
I got ready for the 4x50m relay. My team members were Glen, Kenneth and Ian. I was the first swimmer! I heard the now-familiar Dive into the Water! beep. I dove into the water and swam like my life depended on it. I myself broke my record, again. I got 36.43 seconds for my 50 metres. In the end, my team got last. It was the same for the Medley... Man! That was so.... unlucky. Well, it is Friday the thirteenth.
For my Freestyle, I was the twenty-second in the entire Singapore. These two days gave me lots of experience.
I was going to Toa Payoh Swimming Complex as I was participating in the National Inter-Primary Swimming Competition. My fellow school mates and I got onto the bus and it drove towards the pool. It was way quieter than usual and I could tell that my friends were as nervous as I was. Although this was my first time having a swimming competition in Singapore, I felt up to the challenge. when we arrived, I saw a 50 metre pool... what else do you expect? twenty-five metres?
After a little warm-up, I went to the spectator stand and watched my swim mates swim. Finally, the inevitable arrived. "
"D boys 50 metres Freestyle, please report." My friend's dad who was an official said. I walked towards the reporting area and sat down on a chair that had a number six on it. I was in Heat 7, Lane 6. Soon it was my turn to jump into the burning lava of doom! (Just kidding.) Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! That was the signal to stand behind the diving board. Bbbbeeeeeeeeeeepppppp! That was the signal to stand on the board and get ready. Soon... "Take your Marks!" the referee said. Beep! I sprung off! The chill of the water crept into my bones and I was surprised by the resistance of the water... it seemed to slow me down! I swam with a new-born power as I sped through the water. I suddenly saw a patch of yellow up ahead. It was the wall! I held my breath for the last few metres and I touched the wall! I immediately looked at the timing and I shouted for joy when I saw that I was in second place with a timing of 37.98 seconds. I had beaten my own record.
A few hours later, I stood on Lane 1's diving board again. I wsas participating in the Breast stroke 50 metres Heats too. Beep! I jumped into the water and swam as fast as I could. When I saw my timing, I had beaten my old record too, I wsas in forth place with a timing of 51.62 seconds.
The next day, I still had my Relay and Medley events...
I just love soccer! It is very fun and challenging. My favourite team is Chelsea and my favourite player is Didier Drogba. He is from Ivory Coast and he is, of course, from Chelsea. He is a fantastic dribbler and an excellent striker. He scored the winning goal for Chelsea in the FA Cup Final against Manchester United in the 109th minute.
People say Spain club, Sevilla's David Villa might be coming to Chelsea... for 40 million pounds!

I also like playing computer and video games but I am only allowed to play them on weekends. As you can see I have placed two Halo 3 clips on my blog because I like the first and second chapter of Halo. I cannot wait for the third one to come out! I also like playing Command & Counquer 3: Tiberium Wars as it is very futuristic and cool.
Finally I like playing with my West Highland White Terrier puppy, Sparky. He is so cute! He is only seven months old. I am currently training him at Pet Safari in Simei every Sunday.
After a long, but fun bus trip, my class and I arrived at the Science Centre. The first thing that greeted me was , not some cool gadget or machine, but the hot air of Singapore! The first few machines were in the Water Zone there were a few kids throwing balls into the man-made whirlpool (I have always been amazed at how they do it) and shooting balls up a tube thing.
We entered the Science Centre and we went to a few cool places. One of the things that was very fun was the "soccer" game. The soccer balls were actually on the screen but we could still move them. How? Good question, it responds to your shadow. Dion, Keith Lim, Keif Tan and I played there for a while until my Chinese teacher, Miss Chan asked us to assemble. We headed towards the " China, 7000 years of innovation" exhibit. When we got to the exhibit we had to be stamped two times. One was a Science Centre stamp, the other one was a stamp to enter the exhibit ( I still cannot get them off my hand completely!).
We had a tour guide to bring us around the exhibit. First we went into a gallery with all the dynasties printed on them. Next, we went to see the ancient tools to look at stars. They were gigantic! We went to different stations example, gunpowder, mechanics and so on. We could see the Chinese ships, of course not life-size! We also watched how they made paper and printing. It was very fun. I was staring at "Hua Guo" and he was speaking to me through a paper... just kidding a fake "HuaGuo" was talking through a television.
After about one hour in the exhibit, wse finally could wander where ever we like, for about half an hour. Dion, Keith,Keif and me went back to the "soccer" game and played until time was up.
It was a very fun day and I got to learn the culture of China.
